I received this book, thinking it would be a great book for my family. I have a 12, 10 and 7 year old that each love to read. So first to take on this book was my 12 year old girl. She returned it after a day and said that is was a nice, easy and interesting read. She finished it in a day, so I guess it was true! Then my 10 year old girl took it and read it over the weekend. She loved it. She loves a good mystery, and this was right up her alley. She said that the book was a little beneath her level, thus recommended it for my 7 year old son, who reads at a third grade level. He took about 4/5 days to read the book. Needed very little help from me, only on a couple word meanings. He really got into the characters, the story and the plot. I would really recommend this book for a boy age 9-11 or girl who doesn't need the girly-type books, age 9-11. My 12 year old and I felt that she was past the point where this book really fit in.
Overall, a great story for kids, kept them interested and was easy enough for this age group to understand, yet maintain their interest.
